What sounds like a potential clash is their recipe for success. The two hip-hop choreographers from France are captivating audiences across Europe with their latest indoor performance, "Le Grand Bal." In it, they explore the phenomenon of dance fever and how it spreads to others. Not far removed from isolation, social tensions, and an oppressive gloom, the piece asks what happens when the body breaks free: a fever takes hold on stage, a shiver gradually settles over the nine-member group—then, finally, release: "Le Grand Bal" is a ceremony of liberation. The captivating choreography puts the dancers into a trance and spills over into a collective euphoric experience as the climax of a revolt that extends far beyond the stage.
