The Blues Festival Basel, which takes place annually in the spring, will this year take place in March in the unique setting of the Atlantis in Basel. On this third night of the festival, you can expect a double dose of blues with the Ronny Rast Trio and the Manu Hartmann Band.
At just 19 years of age, Ronny Rast is considered the new discovery of the Swiss blues scene—raw, cheeky, authentic, and with an impressive stage presence. Discovered by producer Marco Jencarelli, he combines youthful energy with a deep feel for the blues and a modern enthusiasm for playing. It was a pleasure to see Rast in Basel as a guest of Philipp Fankhauser at the Blues Festival Basel 2025. A promising talent who sets his own tone with his trio, Rast also released an EP with four songs in 2025.
Manu Hartmann, the “First Lady of Blues in Switzerland,” thrills audiences with her unmistakable mix of blues, soul, and funk. Nominated several times for the Swiss Blues Award and internationally successful, she stands for musical passion and artistic independence. Her new album was released in December 2025 and will be presented exclusively at the Blues Festival Basel.
