Collegium Musicum Basel — Young Talents

With its award-winning concert, which has already become a firm tradition, the Collegium Musicum Basel, conducted by its principal guest conductor Benjamin Reiners, will present three outstanding young musicians who won first prize in their category at the 2025 ARD Competition “Jugend musiziert” in Munich. Robin Paillet is the soloist in Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra in E major, composed in 1803. Elad Navon presents Carl Maria von Weber's Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra No. 1 in F minor, op. 73, from 1811. Liya Wang plays Camille Saint-Saëns' Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in G minor, op. 22, composed in 1868. The orchestra opens the concert with Ludwig van Beethoven's Coriolan Overture in C minor, op. 62, composed in 1807. With the “Young Talents” concert, whose program showcases the tonal expressiveness of solo instruments, the Collegium Musicum Basel is promoting one of its central concerns: the advancement of young musical talent.
