Poschner’s Passion

The new concert series, "Poschner's Passion,” initiated by Sinfonieorchester Basel’s new conductor Markus Poschner, is aimed at everyone interested in the intellectual world behind music and music production. Which ideas lead conductors to which decisions? How does the world of composers shape their works? And how can this be translated into the present day or, in the case of contemporary music production, from the composer to the performers? “Poschner's Passion” is a series of talks that takes place on the Saturday evening before the subscription concerts that he will perform with the orchestra.
On this evening, they will look into the future of the symphony concert format. What prospects are opening up in an age when music is available anytime, anywhere? Poschner discusses this and other topics with musicologist Melanie Wald-Fuhrmann and orchestra director Franziskus Theurillat, among others. Wald-Fuhrmann researches various concert formats and the interactions between performers, audience, space, and music.
Tickets are CHF 20 for adults and CHF 10 for youths and students.
