This evening combines instant composing with lyrical melodies and flowing rhythms. Pianist Pablo Held has made a name for himself in Europe and the United States with his extraordinary trio. His music transcends the boundaries between composition and improvisation with vibrant confidence, deliberately eschewing a sequence of themes and a predetermined way of presenting them. The risk of radical spontaneity drives the trio to carefully and diversely spin the common thread without losing its fluid, poetic, and atmospheric density. With a distinctive and independent aesthetic dedicated to the moment, the trio impresses on every level. To mark their 20th anniversary, they will be collaborating with special guests in 2026. In May, the outstanding British trumpeter Alexandra Ridout will be joining them, thrilling audiences with her robust, versatile tone. She is one of the most exciting voices of her generation.
