After last year's break and the many broken hearts that came with it, your favorite heartbreak disco returns for this Valentine's Day! Following a DJ set livestream, a "Sad Songs Only" edition, a "Speed Dating—Get Your Heart Broken in 15" edition, and the "Songs to Mend Your Broken Heart" radio show, the organizers of Hiver Collective (who are all experts in broken hearts) teaming up with the Kuppel Basel team to offer a playground for all the battered hearts of Basel (and beyond). In their "Playground Love," burlesque meets schmaltzy ballad concert, DJ set, tarot, drag show—and yes, you can even grab the mic yourself again. For first-timers, their iconic welcome shot from Gerschwiler awaits, and for the night owls who stay until the very end, a bittersweet surprise awaits at the close of the soirée. Everyone is welcome in the broken hearts club—except discrimination (of any kind), which can stay at home. Dress code is “revenge dress.”
