The second half of the concert will showcase the diversity of European classical music with works by Mozart, Dvorak, Brahms, and Elgar performed by the chamber orchestra of the Neue Philharmonie Hamburg.
The Neue Philharmonie Hamburg was founded in 2001 by freelance professional musicians from all over the world. Since then, the orchestra has established and maintained a leading position in the northern German music scene. It sees itself as a dynamic orchestra capable of expanding from smaller ensembles for a chamber orchestra to a large symphony orchestra with choir. The core, however, has always been the chamber orchestra, which has barely changed since its founding and is extremely well-coordinated. With numerous guest appearances in Spain, France, Italy, and South Korea, it has earned a wide following among its audiences. The orchestra's concertmaster, Tigran Mikaelyan, is the musical director.
