Engadin Ski Marathon Week

St. Moritz (GR)

Whether Winter Olympics fever is inspiring you to watch a fierce competition or you are simply in the mood to enjoy a classic Swiss sporting event, the Engadin Ski Marathon might just be the right event for you to visit. It is Switzerland's largest mass sporting event and the second largest cross-country skiing event in the world. Since 1969, thousands of participants have been skiing the 42-kilometer marathon route from Maloja to S-chanf or the half-marathon distance (21-km) from Maloja to Pontresina on the second Sunday in March, this year on March 8. While the “Engadiner” attracts world-class racers, for many of the around 14,000 participants, the race is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in one of the world’s most scenic sporting events.
The "Engadiner" includes not only the legendary Engadin Skimarathon, but also an entire marathon week dedicated to cross-country skiing. The program also includes the 17-km Engadin Women's Race (March 1), the 17-km Engadin Night Race (March 5), as well as numerous events in the popular Marathon Village in Pontresina. In addition to the start number distribution and product presentations, you can experience concert highlights, such as a concert by Lo & Leduc.
