Years have passed, and it's finally their wedding day. Figaro, who has risen from barber to the Count's valet, and his Susanna are about to be wed. But Count Almaviva has his eye on the servant and pulls every string to delay the wedding. With the support of the countess, the couple rebel against the arbitrary behavior of the authorities and set off a cascade of intrigues and counter-intrigues. Following his successful production of “The Barber of Seville,” director Nikolaus Habjan returns to Basel with his puppets. Together with the opera studio OperAvenir, he tackles Mozart's socially critical opera, full of sharp humor and emotional depths. This opera will be performed in Italian with English and German surtitles.
Tickets are CHF 30-163 for adults and CHF 20 for youths and students.
