D.Hazelnut has been around since the very beginning, shaping Basel's music and nightlife culture. He was connected to the Kuppel from its inception to its demise: whether through the Mama Africa nights established by his father, or as a DJ, where he gained his first experience under the Kuppel's roof and later also contributed to its programming. Flavah Nice is known as a DJ and dance teacher who during the golden era of the Kuppel literally moved the after-hours of her dance lessons into the Kuppel and celebrated the classic Thursdays with, among others, the Soulsugar DJ Crew.
