Basel has its own outdoor music festival, Summerstage, which this summer will take place at the end of June in Park Im Grünen in Münchenstein. This year’s festival will run over three days, with a “Classic Summer Night” special on Thursday, with the Sinfonieorchester Basel performing masterpieces that shaped music history—from Bach to Ed Sheeran and from Beethoven to Queen. On “Rock Friday,” the audience will be treated to three bands: Manfred Mann's Earth Band, who will be performing their great anthems of the '70s and '80s; legendary British rock band Uriah Heap; and indie-folk project, A Head on Fire. Saturday night is the night for homegrown talent when the four bands—Lilac Attitude, Eifach Ben, Trauffer, and Les Touristes—take the stage.
The venue opens at 18:00 on Thursday, 17:45 on Friday, and at 16:30 on Saturday. The concert grounds can be reached by tram 14.
