33 Years e.s.t — Tribute to Esbjörn Svensson Trio

What remains is love... In 1993, three Swedes, Esbjörn Svensson, Dan Berglund, and Magnus Öström, founded the band e.s.t.. None of the three had any idea that e.s.t. would become the most influential European jazz band of the 2000s. All they wanted was to play music that combined their passions: rock, pop, classical, folk, improvisation. To mark the 30th anniversary of e.s.t., Öström and Berglund got together with their close musical friends Joel Lyssarides, Magnus Lindgren, Verneri Pohjola, and Ulf Wakenius (not present in Basel) to play some of the most beautiful pieces from the timeless e.s.t. repertoire.
"e.s.t. 30" manages to zoom from maximum distance to maximum closeness. From the total silence and weightlessness of space in the opener “From Gagarins Point of View” to the deepest depths of the human soul in the piece “Believe, Beleft, Below,” or as it is called in the later vocal version, “Love Is Real.” “If we meet again, I'd tell you how I feel, I'd tell you from the start, I'd tell you love is real.” Love remains.
