Light Ragaz will once again illuminate the almost 1,000-meters-long Tamina Gorge in canton St. Gallen with a unique light spectacle. The multimedia event projects 3D effects onto the structures and formations of the rocks of the gorge with millimeter precision. The spectacle returns this summer shining in a new light, in which the pictures seem to react to your touch as you pass through the gorge! Visitors will experience a fascinating interplay with the water and be surprised by the breathtaking experience for all senses that awaits them. The raw rocks reach up to 80 meters, and Light Ragaz tells a fantastic story as it transforms the gorge into a visually stunning sea of light. This adventure makes you lose track of time and space and leaves you in a world between illusion and reality.
The experience lasts a total of 2 hours, including the spectacular ride by post bus from Bad Ragaz to the Old Baths Pfäfers and back. You can reach Bad Ragaz by train and either take the bus or walk 10 minutes to the village center. Bad Ragaz can also be reached by car in about 2 hours from Basel, and there is parking available in the parking garage in the village center (Parking Dorfzentrum or Parking Tamina Therme). Tickets purchased online can be redeemed at the “info point Bad Ragaz” for armbands, which not only allow entrance to the gorge but also include the 10-minute Postbus ride from the village to the gorge. There are six busses every 40 minutes on weekdays starting at 17:30, and two additional busses on weekends (21:00 and 21:40) to take you up to the gorge. The Tamina Gorge is wet, and wearing warm and weatherproof clothing is recommended; the event is not recommended for people with claustrophobia or photophobia; dogs are not permitted.
Tickets to Light Ragaz are CHF 29 for adults (CHF 34 on Fridays and Saturdays), CHF 15 for youths ages 10-16, CHF 10 for kids ages 5-9, and free for kids under age 5 accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://lightragaz.com or via Ticketino.
