Light Ragaz will once again illuminate the almost 1,000-meters-long Tamina Gorge in canton St. Gallen with a unique light spectacle. The multimedia event projects 3D effects onto the structures and formations of the rocks of the gorge with millimeter precision, with the pictures seeming to react to your touch as you pass through the gorge! Visitors will experience a fascinating interplay with the water and be surprised by the breathtaking experience for all senses that awaits them. Light Ragaz tells a fantastic story about happiness—why we are looking for it, where we can find it, and how we can learn to enjoy it more. This adventure makes you lose track of time and space and leaves you in a world between illusion and reality.
The experience lasts a total of 2 hours, including the spectacular ride by post bus from Bad Ragaz to Altes Bad Pfäfers and back (included in the ticket price). You can reach Bad Ragaz by train and either take the bus or walk 10 minutes to the village center. Bad Ragaz can also be reached by car in about 2 hours from Basel, and there is parking available in the parking garage in the village center (Parking Dorfzentrum or Parking Tamina Therme). Tickets purchased online can be redeemed at the “info point Bad Ragaz” for armbands that allow entrance to the gorge as well as the 20-minute Postbus ride from the village to the gorge. There are six busses on weekdays that depart every 40 minutes between 17:30 and 20:50, as well as an additional bus at 21:30 on weekends, to take you up to the gorge. Return buses depart the gorge between 19:10 and 22:30 (23:10 on weekends). The Tamina Gorge is wet, and wearing warm and weatherproof clothing is recommended; the event is not recommended for people with claustrophobia or photophobia; dogs are not permitted.
Tickets to Light Ragaz are CHF 28 for adults (CHF 34 on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays), CHF 15 for youths ages 10-16, CHF 10 for kids ages 5-9, and free for kids under age 5 accompanied by a paying adult.
