Mono Mochi

Mono Mochi sound strangely familiar—somewhere between indie rock and dream pop, with a naturalness that is approachable yet remains idiosyncratic. The band originated from the desire to understand music again as something human, something that is allowed to grow. They work independently, produce their own songs, and record on an old tape machine from the 80s—a conscious decision for warmth, patience, and imperfection. Their songs combine the expansiveness of The War On Drugs with the playful coolness of Mac DeMarco, and the gentleness of Men I Trust. Melodies emerge in the warm analog light, carried by lyrics that range from self-irony and hopeful world-weariness to road-trip nostalgia. With their debut album in 2024, Mono Mochi garnered attention beyond national borders and received international radio airplay, from SRF and ByteFM to stations in the Netherlands and Latvian National Radio, as well as U.S. college radio and stations in South America. Their second studio album will follow in September 2026—with greater depth and a new urgency. It is the result of a band that has learned through the process what they truly want to say, and what they don't. It’s music that doesn't have to prove anything, and that's precisely why it has a longer-lasting effect.
