Puppet Theater — Una Voce Poco Fa… ?

Basler Marionetten Theater
Friday, 08 May
20:00-20:50

A singer enters the stage—confused, her memory clearly clouded. She is searching for what she once was and what she has become. With the help of props, pre-recorded sounds, and figures—some real, some imaginary—she cautiously feels her way back into her past. Every object, every sound opens a door; each figure points her in a new direction. At her side: a trombonist—a reflection of the great clown Grock, who sometimes drives her on, sometimes slows her down, sometimes encourages her to forget, sometimes forces her to remember. Together, voice and trombone embark on a melodious journey, from Luciano Berio and Cathy Berberian to arrangements by Kurt Weill and the Beatles. What they will find in the end is the echo of a musical repertoire that indelibly shaped the second half of the 20th century.
This show is a co-production between the Paul Sacher Foundation and the Basler Marionetten Theater featuring both live and electronic music, including puppetry and object performance. This theater piece is ideally suited for kids ages 14 and up.
Tickets are CHF 40 for adults and CHF 30 for kids and students.
