UGFive is a Basel-based jazz-rock-funk band that captivates audiences entirely without vocals. What began as a spontaneous jam session with friends in Basel in 2008 has since become a fixture on the scene. With their diverse grooves, multi-layered melodic licks, palpable energy, and a healthy dose of charm, the five musicians enthrall audiences wherever they perform.
Musically, UGfive's sound is rooted in 80s jazz-rock—always with a healthy dose of funk. Their repertoire includes both original compositions and pieces by renowned artists such as Billy Cobham and Dave Weckl. Electric and acoustic sounds alternate, creating plenty of variety and excitement. Since its founding in 2008, the band has been continuously active. Despite some changes over the years, one thing has always remained the same: the passion for making music together and the joy of sharing their repertoire live with the audience!
Tickets are CHF 15 in advance or CHF 20 at the door; students receive a CHF 5 discount.
