R(H)eingeworfen (Thrown In) — The Invisible World of the Rhein

kHaus
Sat., 30 August until Fri., 19 September

In August 2024, photographer Anna Guarino had the special opportunity to get to know the eco-activist association R(h)eingeworfen. She accompanied them for a day—first with her camera, then with growing respect—observing and documenting. And by the end of that day, it was clear—this wasn't just a photo reportage. This was the beginning of something. A single day became a longer-term project. After the exhibition of this series in February at PhotoSchweiz25, the idea arose: Why not bring the images back to where they were created? Together with the association and the Gallerie SECHS, they developed a photo exhibition in a public space about volunteer divers with an artistic perspective—found objects, faces, gestures, moments.
Large-format photographs are exhibited in front of the kHaus, almost where they were taken. The exhibition, which can be viewed 24/7, is held in a location where both the Rhein and the images of the found objects and divers can be seen simultaneously, creating a deeper connection between the urban community and the environment. There is also a small indoor project, a mini-museum, that playfully complements the exhibition. An accompanying indoor gallery features additional photographs, curious objects, and an installation. There are also interactive presentations on topics such as environmental protection, volunteer work, and urban community. The indoor gallery can be visited from 14:00-20:00.
Admission is free.
