The world-famous international competition for extraordinary nature photography, which is organized by the Natural History Museum London, celebrates its 61st edition in 2025. From over 60,000 photographs submitted by more than 4,000 photographers from more than 110 countries, a jury selected the 100 most outstanding images that are now shown in the impressive exhibition “Wildlife Photographer of the Year,” at the Naturhistorisches Museum Basel. The exhibition presents amazing images that illustrate fascinating animal behavior, spectacular species, and the breathtaking diversity of the natural world. They take you on a visual adventure through different environments and offer you a window into the wildlife that calls them home. These images use the unique emotional power of photography to reach and inspire the visitors. They highlight stories and species from around the globe and inspire us to help protect the beauty and diversity of our planet.
There will be a public vernissage of the exhibition on November 20 at 18:30; entrance for this event is free.
