The Fondation Beyeler in Riehen has recently expanded its facilities with the opening of three new buildings, and enlarged park area, and renovations and enhancements to existing historic buildings (see our post https://www.basellife.com/the-expansion-of-the-fondation-beyeler/). This expansion marks a major milestone in the evolution of Switzerland’s most visited art museum.

The inauguration of this new ensemble is being carried out in a gradual, step-by-step approach over a preview period from now until January 14, 2027. During this time, opening days and tickets will be limited, allowing visitors to experience the new ensemble ahead of its full opening and the Fondation Beyeler to begin operating the new ensemble and gain practical experience.

• From now until October 18, 2026, the both the original Beyeler Museum and the new Wyss Museum will be open Wednesday from 10:00—20:00 and Thursday to Sunday from 10:00-18:00. Note that on Wednesday, October 7, the museum will be open only until 16:30, and October 16 and 17 it will be closed all day.
• From October 18, 2026 to January 14, 2027, the original Beyeler Museum will be open daily from 10:00-18:00 (Wednesday until 20:00). The new Wyss Museum will be closed on Tuesdays during this period, as well as on Monday, November 9, 16, and 24, 2026, and from January 4-14, 2027. During this preview period, tickets will only be sold online and for specific time slots.  

Starting January 15, the entire ensemble will be open again every day, seven days a week.
