The Basler Gesangverein (Basel Choral Society) is the oldest existing mixed choir in Switzerland and presents at least two concerts annually. This November, they will be performing three pieces: Luis Bacalov’s “Misa Tango” (work for mezzo-soprano, baritone, bandoneon, choir and orchestra), David Sonton Caflisch’s “El sur” (world premiere; composition commissioned by the Basel Choral Society), and Marcelo Nisinman’s “Troisième Generation.” The works will be performed together with the Orchestre Musique des Lumières under the direction of Facundo Agudin.
Tickets range from CHF 40–70, 50% discount for students, and are available through their website or at Bider & Tanner (https://www.biderundtanner.ch/).
