Visual Theater — Dimanche (Sunday)

A family prepares to spend a Sunday at home. Despite the trembling walls, howling winds, and raging deluge, life goes on. While around them everything is changing and collapsing, the surprising inventiveness of human beings unfolds in an attempt to preserve their daily lives, to the point of absurdity. At the same time, on the roads, traveling the world, a team of wildlife reporters braves the elements to bear witness to the life of the last living species on Earth.
The result of a collaboration between two Belgian companies, “Dimanche” is an enjoyable encounter between object theater and gestural theater. The scenes follow one another, each crazier and more poetic than the last. Hyper-realistic puppets mingle with the actors and allow a white bear or a pink flamingo to appear. The work of the body is remarkable and puts itself at the service of a stunning creativity and originality. Between fantasy and reality, “Dimanche” paints the portrait of a humanity totally out of step with its time, gripped by the chaos of climate change.
Tickets are € 6-28.
