Groove Now has conceived a new musical project that pays tribute to the great ladies of the blues. On this evening, singer Terrie Odabi—who has one of the most interesting black voices that embodies emotion, depth, and passion—and the bassist and singer Lisa Mann will play songs of the great blues ladies like Bessie Smith, Sippie Wallace, Dinah Washington, Koko Taylor, and Etta James. Both musicians are the ideal cast for this project because they both have great voices and Mann has also won several awards for best bass player in blues.
They will be sharing the stage with a great band, including Jimi Bott on drums, guitarist Jason "JT" Thomas, keyboardist Louis Pain, and Ben Rice on guitar and vocals. Such a concert that pays homage to the great blues ladies of history is unlikely to be seen again; the concert will be recorded for possible release on CD at a later date.
