Brazilian singer-songwriter Céu, born in Sao Paulo in 1980, comes from a musical family. Her father is a music teacher, composer, and musicologist himself. From him she learned to appreciate the Brazilian modern classics, especially Heitor Villa-Lobos, Ernesto Nazaré, and Orlando Silva. At age 15 she decided against college, instead studying music theory and the violão, the Brazilian concert guitar. After a 15-year career, Céu is widely recognized as one of the most influential and important Brazilian artists of this century and one of the greatest singers of her generation. She began her career in 2005 with her mix of samba poetry, trip-hop, and electronica, and an American Grammy nomination! Shortly thereafter, she changed the music scene in her own country by leading a new generation of singers writing their own songs. She won three Latin Grammys, two with her album “Tropix” (2016) and one with her new album “APKÁ!,” which was released exclusively in Brazil in September 2019 and worldwide in April 2020. The album showcases her new repertoire along with songs written according to her wishes by two of Brazil's leading composers, Caetano Veloso and Dinho Almeida (Boogarins).
Tickets are CHF 35.10-76.90.
